Regional Land Reclamation Museum of Ca' Vendramin
The Regional Land Reclamation Museum of Ca' Vendramin is a "sui generis" museum devoted to the history of land reclamation in the area of Po delta.
The building that hosted the dewatering pump has now been turned into an exhibition area, where the engines, spaces and machineries stand out as a proof of the constant human effort employed to coexist with the river and maintain the liveability of an area marked by a delicate balance between land and water.
This dewatering plant is a wonderful masterpiece of hydraulic engineering. During its operational years, it stood out not only as the beating heart of the hydraulic system in the Island of Ariano, but also as a symbol of social advance for its inhabitants.
