Holm of Panarella
From an environmental point of view, the holm of Panarella is the combined result of the action of man and creative force of nature. With its 25 hectares, this is a site of considerable landscape value and one of the widest holms in the lower course of the Po river.
As far as vegetation is concerned, this holm can be divided into three zones: marsh, meadow, and wood.
The wood, which hosts a wide variety of spontaneous tree and shrub species, as well as of arboreal animals, is very rarely found along the course of the Po river.
Bird life represents the main faunistic attraction of the holm. In fact, these environments draw a wide number of nest-building and wintering species, as well as of migratory birds.
